"We've been a family-owned business since 1945," said John D. Daoud, President, C.E.O. - Long Family Auto Center and Al's Grandson. "Many of our employees have served with us for a lengthy amount of time and can provide all of our customers with the high quality of products and service they've grown accustomed to expect from their dealer."
Owner Tarik Daoud has led the dealership for 39 years after acquiring the store in 1972 from his father-in-law, Al. His son John is now president and CEO.
Gary Marr, general manager and chief operating officer, who started as a porter at age 15, has gained his expertise over a 30- |
year association with the dealership. Enjoying a 50 percent repeat and a 45 percent referral customer base, Long Family Auto Center also attracts new customers by marketing strongly to the surrounding neighborhoods. It seems only natural to reach out to vehicle customers in search of a place to shop for quality used vehicles - and have them serviced.
"When a dealership goes out of business, customers probably feel really lost and not sure about where to go. They don't know where to turn," Marr said.
The store's slogan - "Your Dealer Forever" - lends an assuring message to customers that their automotive-related needs can be taken care of.
"We plan on being here forever," Marr said. "We won't be closing the doors and leaving."
